Weavers of Barabanki

There was a time when the rhythms of daily live and labors were in harmony with the rhythms and seasons of nature. Clothes were woven without regard to time taken. Today the imperatives of cost benefit seem to have overtaken every aspect of human endeavor. The age we live in reflects this headlong compression and acceleration of time the Indian Master weavers and handloom craftsmen suffered a decline.

Free Elegance manufacture it's fabrics at the villages around Barabanki.

Vilagers weave the uniqe fabrics with a wooden hand loom which is placed almost in every house in the villages of India since the Mahatma Gandhi days.

The Handloom weaving gives us the opportunity to provide work and sustainable income to unprivilage communities at the village in India.

The metod is traditional and eco-friendly, not causing harm neither to weaver nor to the enviroment.

The results are marvelous hand loom fabric which is softer and gentlier than the powerloom fabric, yet strong and of excellent quality.
